OUR VALUES
The set of meanings contained and expressed in the Italian Constitution and the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights are a source of inspiration for outlining the Foundation’s founding values: each one of them, in fact, is closely linked to all the others.
FREEDOM
Personal freedom cannot infringe on the freedom of others, but is strengthened through community freedom. Freedom is affirmed by the implementation of democratic methods that take into account diversity, requiring a synthesis that enhances starting points.
PARTICIPATION
Interest, involvement and awareness: the passion for social life issues that triggers the desire and need to take action. The Constitution is the highest attempt to regulate life in the EC; the more intense this is, the more substantial the principles will be.
DEMOCRACY
Significant and indispensable way of understanding relationships with others and with society. A condition in which abuse of power has no time or place, and alliances can instead be developed while respecting the diversity of everyone. To exist, democracy must be decisive, representative, widespread.
PEACE
We take action by trying to work to the best of our ability, thirsty to learn from the skills of others, seeking improvement of both self and our surroundings. We do not seek opposition, confrontation, or want to reason in terms of envy and resentment. We search for harmony. Whether for reasons of values or interest: wars cost money, even for those who win them.
WORK
The organization, which was established as a business foundation, considers work to be one of the fundamental aspects of people’s lives, in which constitutional values should be applied: Article One of the Constitutional Charter defines the Republic to be “founded on work”.
DIVERSITY
The concept is fully realised in a democracy that relies on and makes use of all the different individualities: diversity is a value if one has the strength to join together, and be part of a community. Homogenization, conformism and discrimination are lethal to individual and social growth.
THE ACTIVITY
The Foundation is active in all situations in which constitutional principles can be implemented, involving, in an inclusive manner, the community expressed within institutions, individuals, businesses, media and associations. It does so with circular reasoning in which the value produced travels towards the community and returns to the Foundation, because it believes that by developing value in the environment, in society, and in established relationships, it may create widespread prosperity from which everyone will benefit, including itself.
How it acts
Partnership with the third sector
The Foundation works to develop virtuous collaborative relationships with other third-sector organisations that are useful for achieving their fundamental goals. Together with universities and other non-profit organisations, the Foundation implements its activities in line with its founding values.
Financed projects
In cooperation with other TSOs, the Foundation can access the funding envisaged in notifications published by European (UE, Commissione Europea, Parlamento Europeo) and Italian (Ministries, Regions, Municipalities) institutions and private bodies, with the aim of implementing measures that focus on developing the engagement and participation of citizens in the democratic life of the state and the Union.
FACES OF THE FOUNDATION
Andrea Poli
President
A law graduate whose thesis was entitled “Beyond Party Democracy: Article 49 as the cornerstone of constitutional democracy.” During his years of studies he always played an active role in sports and social volunteering, founding the youth association “Oltre“ (Beyond). As a councillor for youth policies in the municipality of San Pietro di Morubio, he promoted ongoing coordination between 20 local authorities in the area and projects sponsored by the European Union, government, regional and provincial authorities. In 2022 it founded Withub S.p.A., which employs more than 140 people.
Eddy Zamperlin
Operational director
Educator. Continuously engaged in volunteer work, in 2005 he founded “il Girasole”, a community that takes in unaccompanied foreign minors with criminal cases against them. In 2007 he founded “Campacavallo”, an association that provides horse riding rehabilitation services for disabled children. From 2008 to 2017 he worked as a mission leader for various NGOs, including Amici dei Bambini and WeWorld Onlus, in Moldova, DR Congo, Haiti, Colombia, Burundi and Benin.
